Guardians From Above is the brainchild of Scott Bakker and Tom Moore of the Civil Air Patrol 105 South Coast Composite Squadron. After others failed to rescue James Kim before he succumbed to exposure in December 2006, GFA was formed by linking the resources of Civil Air Patrol with those of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. On their first mission, Tom Moore, Scott Bakker, and Jim Metcalfe successfully rescued an injured pilot when he crashed in the Oregon wilderness after dark.

Since then many other rescue efforts have taken place in coordination with local law enforcement in effort to help and save lives in need of help along the Southern Oregon and Oregon Coast. All our team member and workers assist in our effort on voluntary bases, and it is their support along with local community support on Oregon Coast and Southern Oregon keep our organization active and operational.
If your area is locate in Southern Oregon or Northern California and is in need of help in a rescue effort of people in danger and need an aerial support using our latest technology please contact us immediately. We will do all that we can to help in your effort.
